Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University (TNMGRMU), Chennai, is one of the largest health science universities in India, governing MBBS programmes across a significant number of affiliated medical colleges in Tamil Nadu. TNMGRMU declares MBBS results phase-wise after each university examination cycle, covering all affiliated colleges simultaneously. Result links for 2026 will be updated on this page when officially announced. For the authoritative result, always refer to the official TNMGRMU website.
TNMGRMU results are published on the official university portal after the examination board completes evaluation. Results are typically searchable by register number. Here is the general process:
If your result shows as not found after the official declaration, verify your register number carefully. If the issue persists, contact your college examination section, who can liaise with TNMGRMU on your behalf.
TNMGRMU 2026 MBBS result links will be posted here when officially announced by the university.
TNMGRMU follows the NMC Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) framework across all affiliated MBBS programmes. Examinations and results are conducted and declared separately for each of the four phases.

Students must independently pass both the theory and practical components of each subject to be declared passed in that subject, as per NMC CBME pass criteria. The overall result for a phase is declared only when all subject results are processed.
Detained Students: Students who do not meet the minimum attendance or other eligibility criteria are declared detained and are not permitted to sit the university examination for that phase. A detained student's result will not appear on the portal; instead, they must re-register and meet eligibility requirements in the subsequent cycle. If you have been detained, consult your college immediately.
Supplementary Examinations: Students who fail one or more subjects in the main examination are eligible for supplementary examinations. TNMGRMU announces supplementary schedules and registration procedures on the official portal after the main result. Register through your college within the notified window.
Each TNMGRMU MBBS result shows subject-wise marks for theory and practical components separately, along with a pass or fail status for each subject and an overall phase result. Students who pass all subjects in a phase are declared passed and are eligible to progress. Students who fail one or more subjects receive a compartment result and must appear in the supplementary examination.
TNMGRMU declares results after completing evaluation of answer scripts for each phase examination. No specific dates for 2026 results have been announced yet. Result timelines vary by phase and examination cycle. Check the official TNMGRMU website for notifications, or return to this page for updates when results are posted.
Detained means a student was not eligible to sit the university examination for that phase, usually due to insufficient attendance or failure to meet other eligibility criteria set by TNMGRMU or the affiliated college. A detained student does not receive a university examination result and must complete the requirements in the next eligible cycle. Contact your college examination section if you are uncertain about your detention status.
