How to Use Multi-University PYQs Effectively

  • Always start with your own university's papers. Question setters at each university follow their own patterns. Analyse two to three years of your university's papers before looking at other universities -- this tells you which topics and question formats your examiners favour.
  • Use other universities' papers to fill pattern gaps. Once you know your university's high-frequency topics, add papers from RGUHS or KNRUHS (with four-year archives) to identify whether the same topics appear across states. Questions that appear in three or more universities are safe to treat as universally high-priority.
  • Cross-university comparison reveals the NMC CBME core. Topics that appear in RGUHS, KNRUHS, and TNMGRMU papers across multiple years are almost certainly part of the NMC core competency framework -- not university-specific preferences. Use this to separate essential revision from optional depth.
  • Use the 2021 archive for Tier-1 universities. RGUHS, KNRUHS, and TNMGRMU have 2021 papers alongside 2023, 2024, and 2025. Comparing 2021 with 2025 shows whether question styles have shifted under NMC CBME and which topics have persisted over five years.
  • Combine PYQs with subject notes and important questions. A question paper shows what was asked; the subject hub, topic pages, and notes pages show how to answer it. Use both in your revision cycle -- identify the question from the PYQ archive, then go to the GeckoMed topic page or notes resource to build the full answer.
  • Download papers to the app for offline revision. GeckoMed's app stores all papers offline so you can revise during clinical postings and transport, where internet access may be limited.
