What This Page Covers

MBBS 1st Year has three subjects under NMC CBME: Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry. This page organises previous year questions by subject rather than by raw paper, so you can practise one subject at a time. If you want the unfiltered archive of full papers by year instead, use MBBS 1st Year Question Papers.

A dedicated Biochemistry question bank is not yet published; the full archive link above covers it in the meantime.

University-Wise Access

Each of the seven universities publishes its own 1st Year papers for all three subjects.

Exam Pattern for 1st Year MBBS (NMC CBME)

All three 1st Year subjects follow the same NMC CBME structure: two theory papers of 100 marks each, plus one practical examination of 100 marks, uniform across all seven partner universities. Theory papers combine Long Essay Questions (around 10 marks each) with Short Answer Questions (around 5 marks each).

Practical components differ by subject: Anatomy practical covers dissection spot questions, osteology, and histology slide identification. Physiology practical covers haematology experiments, blood grouping, and clinical physiology viva. Biochemistry practical is chemistry-pathology and biochemical estimation based.

Study Tips for 1st Year

  • Start with Anatomy, since it carries the heaviest practical and viva weight of the three subjects.
  • Revise Physiology and Biochemistry together where topics overlap (metabolism, enzyme physiology), since exam questions often cross-reference the two.
  • Work through at least three years of papers per subject before attempting mixed practice sets.
  • Keep a running list of diagrams you're weak on. Anatomy and Physiology both test diagram-based recall heavily.
  • Use viva prep alongside PYQs. Many viva questions are lifted directly from recent theory papers.
