MBBS Anatomy Question Papers (2025 to 2021)

If this is your first time looking at an Anatomy question paper, this page is built for that moment. Anatomy is the first subject most students genuinely struggle to approach, not because the content is unfamiliar, but because the exam format itself is new: long essays, applied osteology, and a viva that expects you to identify structures on sight. This page covers what a first-time Anatomy paper actually looks like, alongside the full 2025 to 2021 archive.

Papers sourced from official university exam archives and student-shared academic records. Updated 2026.

What a First Year Anatomy Paper Actually Covers

Anatomy theory papers are typically split across gross anatomy (upper limb, lower limb, thorax, abdomen, head and neck), histology, embryology, and neuroanatomy. If you have not sat a university exam before, the format itself is worth understanding before the content: long essay questions expect a structured answer with a labelled diagram, short notes expect a concise, focused paragraph, and the practical and viva test spot identification and applied clinical correlations separately from the written paper.

Getting Started with Your First Anatomy Paper

  1. Read one full paper before you start revising, not after. Even without knowing all the content yet, reading a 2024 or 2025 paper early tells you what an actual question looks like, which makes your textbook reading more targeted.
  2. Separate your prep into theory, practical, and viva from day one. These are assessed differently, and studying only from your textbook will leave you underprepared for spotters and viva identification.
  3. Start diagram practice early, not close to the exam. Anatomy diagrams (cross-sections, nerve pathways, muscle attachments) take repeated practice to draw quickly and accurately under time pressure.
  4. Use osteology as your foundation. Bones are typically the first practical topics covered and come up consistently in both practicals and theory, so getting comfortable with osteology early makes the rest of the syllabus easier to follow.
  5. Don't wait to see a full past paper until your final revision. Many first-year students only look at PYQs a few weeks before the exam. Looking early, even before you've covered the topic, sets expectations correctly from the start.
